Joana Godinho

Joana Godinho is a Medical Doctor; Public Health Specialist; Master of Arts in Communication; and Doctor in Social Sciences. Joana is the Latin America and Caribbean Region Health, Nutrition and Population Sector Manager at the World Bank. She has provided assistance to Governments and other stakeholders in Latin America and the Caribbean, former Soviet Union and Balkans, and Africa, by carrying out analytical work and developing investment operations on reproductive health, water and sanitation, TB and HIV/AIDS control, health systems development, including on health promotion, primary health care and hospital reform, and public sector management reform. Before she joined the World Bank, she was Lisbon Health Authority; Professor at the University Nova of Lisbon; and Project Leader of the European Commission financed Project "Tipping the Balance Towards Primary Health Care".
