Developing public health capacity
A comprehensive package of training and capacity building was delivered in Lithuania, which included work on health promotion principles, evaluation and empowerment.
The team was responsibile for leading on the development of a public health strategy and impelemtnation plan for Lithuania funded by the World Bank. This included in-country development and study visits and training in the UK. Twinning links were also set up between organisations in the UK and Lithuania.
Recently, the HAPI team organised a study tour for a team from the Lithuanian Ministry of Health and municipalities, focusing on the equity work of public health observatories and special centres.
